Mesochori

Mesochori is one of the two villages which stand above Neapolis along with Faraklo.

Located at an altitude that allows the visitor to enjoy the view to the plain, the bay and the islands. Lower lies the castle of Agia Paraskevi, which controlled the region for pirates and gave security to the residents of the village and the area of Vatika in general. Many different versions of the name of the village exist but the prevalent is that it named so because of a large ravine separated the village in the middle, at the eastern and the western part.

Built around the 17 century AD and developed in parallel with Faraklo. Walk down the village street, stop at the benches that offer wonderful view and visit the Church of the Salvation in the west of the village, built in 1708 and dominates with the grandiose construction.
